Fed: Alleged Aust rapist extradited from US to Adelaide

A 28-year-old man charged with multiple counts of rape and attempted rape in Australia
has been extradited from the United States.

The man was charged in April last year with allegedly raping or attempting to rape
three young women at knifepoint in Adelaide between July 2000 and October 2003.

Australian authorities contacted the Los Angeles Regional Fugitive Task Force in June
last year and asked for help finding and arresting the man.

The man was arrested in Los Angeles, and has been sent back to Australia to face charges.

Police say he arrived in Adelaide this morning and was escorted to the City Watch House,
where he's being held ahead of a court appearance.

He will appear Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.
