Vic: Three months' jail for speedster
MELBOURNE, April 24 AAP - A 20-year-old man has been jailed for three months over a
police pursuit in which he hit speeds of up to 250km/h.
Justin Andrew Pickering evaded police during pursuits in Victoria and New South Wales
in his new Subaru sedan on August 2 last year.
Pickering was driving from NSW to Melbourne when he hit speeds of up to 250km/h evading
police several times.
He was arrested as the police airwing pursued him when he came to a dead-end street
in Craigieburn.
Today, he was sentences in Broadmeadows Magistrates' Court to nine months' jail, with
six months suspended, on two counts of reckless conduct endangering life.
He also disqualified him from driving for five years.
On remaining driving related charges he was convicted and fined $2,000.
